St Paul’s Cathedral #1
Watercolour on Arches paper.
St. Paul’s is something of an obsession for me. Its perfect proportions, the mix of square (male) and round (female) shapes, the colours and beauty of the materials and its historical significance combine to make it endlessly fascinating.
There have been many attempts, but this one, painted over a couple of days standing in the churchyard, is the most successful observational painting of St. Paul’s that I have managed.
