Moon Landscape
2012

Watercolour, ink on Arches paper.

Much sandpapering and distressing of the Arches paper in this painting to poduce a foreground which appears quite flat but is also shaded to give the illusion of a 'wooded landscape'.

Another opportunity to paint the moon, this time with an avuncular face. I emphasised the features by exploiting the capability of Arches paper to be manipulated into raised areas when wet, which stay raised when dry.
