Moon in a Puddle
2012

Acrylic, stained glass paint, enamel paint, silicone sealer, rubbish on canvas.

There was a definite aim in mind here – to use the combination of materials I often use in a way that seemed ideally suited to their properties – to make a ‘real-ish’ puddle with a reflection of the moon.

Stained glass paint and silicone sealer were combined to make the ‘puddle’, with a raised area for the ‘moon’, which was painted with acrylic paint.

Found objects and rubbish were used to make the surrounding ‘ground’, then varnish was poured into the puddle area.

This painting seemed easy to produce wth few frustrations. There wasn’t much discipline required to get it to look enough like the subject.
