Masked Moon
2012

Silicone sealer, emulsion, clay, varnish, acrylic, stained glass paint on canvas.

Taking the notion of the moon's 'face' appearing to wear a mask, this painting was produced by building up the 3D look with clay and emulsion. The 'mask' was made separately and added on.

My fascination with the moon is partly because it is so recognisable, yet can be portrayed in so many different ways.

I guess the only mandatory for it to be potentially acknowledged as the moon is a round (or round-ish) shape.
