Floating in the Trees
Watercolour, ink on Arches paper.
After the death of a much loved aunt, I was out painting in the woods at Harrow-on-the-Hill when I got the distinct impression that she was leaping lightheartedly through the trees, laughing.
This painting was done shortly afterwards. It is not an exact representation of the experience (for one thing, the figure is not laughing), but was influenced by it.
