Acrylic, stained glass paint, silicone sealer, varnish on canvas.
This started out as a painting of Mary. The outline of the face / shoulders and the outer ‘veil’ area are still visible.
At some point it went wrong and I pulled off the silicone/paint that formed the face. I tried reversing it and laying it back into the outline, which looked interesting.
With the vague idea of the outine representing a 'world’, I filled it in with silicone ‘sea’ surrounding the face ‘land’ then coloured the outer area blue and added ‘stars’.
