Acrylic, stained glass paint, enamel paint, silicone sealer, hair on canvas.
The aim was to make a painting that was extremely ‘donkey-ish’.
It seemed important that the donkey was done in profile with the extremities of the ear and nose made to fit to the edges of the canvas.
I looked at a combination of images to help get the basic proportions right, from sources including the internet and a children’s book of the story of Jesus.
The focus was on the donkey, with little indication of background, which – if anything – is a beach.
